Seattle is AWESOME.

Seattle was a great city to be in! Thuy and I got a chance to explore all over downtown Seattle (being the tourists that we are), and the great thing about it is that everything is super close to each other. On the first day, we hit up the Museum of Flight. This place was so interactive it was like being in a techie playground. Flight simulators, space landing simulators, video exhibits, and everything else filled up our time that we had to rush over to the Air Park, which is where they store actual planes that you can check out. We walked through the FIRST Air Force One. After that, we explored Seattle's City Center, which is amazing. It has the feel of a community green space like Golden Gate Park or Balboa Park, and a lot of cultural attractions that made it a hub for all different kinds of people. Of course, we had to check out the Space Needle, but we also went to the Chihuly Glass and Art Exhibit, which has to be one of the most amazing exhibits I've ever been to. I can't really describe it except in one way: think AVATAR. Another great place to visit was the Experience Music Project (EMP) Museum. Based on its name, you would think that its focus really was just on music, but that's not the case. Along with exhibits on Jimmy Hendrix and Kurt Cobain, there was actually a whole exhibit on horror movies, fantasy movies, and video games. The super geek in me was very excited. The waterfront is always fun too. We took a boat tour of the bay, and it is beautiful to see the Seattle skyline on one side, and the mountain ranges on the other. We then checked out the aquarium, which was nice but definitely doesn't beat Monterey. This being our first trip, we really zoomed in on the touristy stuff, but there is so much to see and do! We didn't even get a chance to go to Vancouver. Definitely planning a next time! There is a lot of nature in the Seattle area, and I definitely want to get into that a lot more.
